StampHall Sold to
Michael Jaffe, Owner of
Brookman Stamps

St. Louis, MO – Regency-Superior, Ltd. has sold StampHall.com, their weekly internet auction website, to Michael Jaffe, the owner of Brookman Stamps (Vancouver, Washington). Michael Jaffe, owner of Michael Jaffe Stamps and Brookman Stamp Company took over operations of StampHall effective with the weekly auction closing June 17th.
StampHall was introduced into the marketplace by Regency-Superior back in 2001, and quickly became a leading online auction site exclusively for the sale of stamps and covers. Each auction featured 2,500 USA and foreign stamps, and closed every Tuesday evening at 6pm (Pacific Time).
StampHall caters specifically to stamp collectors. The search engine was designed to handle not only country and Scott number criteria, but condition and centering as well, allowing collectors to be as specific with their philatelic request as they wish. For example, one can search for all “used” or “mint never-hinged” stamp offerings.
Each StampHall listing contains a full color photograph along with a brief description of the condition of the stamp or set, along with the current bid price. A special feature called “Auction Watch” emails bidders when they are outbid, and provides them with the opportunity to increase their bid accordingly.
Regency-Superior initiated StampHall to complement their cataloged Public Auctions. Material that cataloged under $200 was typically auctioned at StampHall.com, while the more expensive items were sold through their Public Auction – justifying the high cost of printing and mailing of color catalogs. And, to take it one step further, David Kols, President of Regency-Superior created “Dollar Dave”, stamps that opened each week at just $1 on StampHall. “Dollar Dave proved to be an incredibly popular feature on StampHall. Hundreds of collectors would log-on each week just to search for these unreserved bargains.”
Customer service has always been a top priority with StampHall, and will continue under Michael Jaffe’s stewardship. Knowledgeable stamp experts are available to answer any question a collector may have regarding any StampHall listing. And, a 7-day satisfaction guarantee makes buying incredibly appealing.
Michael Jaffe has been in business since 1975 and immediately began specializing in duck stamps. Jaffe purchased Brookman Stamp Company in 1995 and branched out into foreign stamps with the purchase of Gerson-Reiter in 1998.
Jaffe views StampHall as “a tremendous tool to expand his duck business and Brookman Stamps while offering bidders more of a choice and selection than before”. Jaffe will be working with current consignors and soliciting new consignors to submit stamps for auction with no upper price limits.
